I am reading Pathways to the Common Core by Lucy Calkins, Mary Ehrenworth, and Christopher Lehman. I highly recommend this book for ANY teacher currently teaching ELA. The authors not only unpack each of the ELA CCSS, they provide interesting insight into what each standard will require and demand students to do. Although instructional methods are touched upon, it is not a "this is how to teach this standard book". It is about students and what we, as teachers, need to begin thinking about in order to help them be successful.
